Email Notification Settings
Overview
FutureFeed can email you about tasks assigned to you in the app. You choose how often you want those emails in My Preferences.
These emails are summaries of your work — they are not sent the instant something happens (with one exception noted below).
Where to Change Your Settings
- Open My Preferences from the app menu.
- Find Email Notifications.
- Set how often you want each type of email.
The Two Notification Settings
New Assignments Email Tells you when new tasks have been assigned to you.
- Never — no emails about new assignments
- Daily — one email per day if you have new assignments
Due and Overdue Tasks Email Reminds you about tasks that are due soon or already past due.
- Never — no reminder emails
- Daily (5 days / week) — Monday through Friday
- Daily (7 days / week) — every day
- Weekly (Monday) — once a week on Monday
- Monthly (First Day) — once a month on the 1st
What Happens When You Choose "Daily"?
FutureFeed checks your tasks once per day (in the evening, Eastern Time) and sends one email if you have anything to report.
You will not get an email every day just because you picked Daily. You only get one if:
- You have tasks that match that email type, and
- You still have active access to the company in FutureFeed
If nothing applies that day, no email is sent.
What Each Email Contains
"New FutureFeed Task Assignments" Sent when you chose Daily for new assignments. Includes evidence tasks assigned to you in the last 24 hours that are still open.
"FutureFeed Task Assignments Due" Sent based on your due/overdue schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly). Includes tasks where you are the Accountable person and the task is:
- Already overdue, or
- Due within the next 30 days
Tasks are grouped as overdue, due this week, and due later this month.
Default Settings for New Users
When you first join FutureFeed:
- New Assignments — Daily
- Due and Overdue Tasks — Weekly (Mondays)
You can change these anytime in My Preferences.
Emails That Ignore Your Daily/Weekly Settings
Some emails are sent separately and do not follow your notification preferences:
| When It's Sent | |
|---|---|
| Reassigned FutureFeed Task | Immediately when someone reassigns a task to you |
| Account inactivity warnings | If you haven't logged in for a long time (14, 7, 3, or 1 days before deactivation) |
| Access expiration notices | When your access to a company is about to expire |
| Role change notifications | When your role in a company changes |
These are system or security-related messages, not task digests.
Why You Might Not Receive an Email
Even with Daily selected, you may not get an email if:
- No matching tasks — nothing new, due, or overdue for you that day
- No active access — your access to the company has expired or been removed
- Company is inactive — the company account is locked or cancelled
- Wrong task role — due/overdue emails only go to the person marked Accountable on a task
- You chose Never — that email type is turned off
Quick Reference
| I want… | Set this |
|---|---|
| A daily list of new tasks | New Assignments → Daily |
| Daily reminders about deadlines | Due and Overdue → Daily (7 days / week) |
| Reminders on workdays only | Due and Overdue → Daily (5 days / week) |
| A weekly Monday reminder | Due and Overdue → Weekly (Monday) |
| No task emails at all | Set both to Never |
In Plain Terms
Think of FutureFeed task emails like a daily or weekly to-do summary, not a text message for every change.
- Pick Daily → FutureFeed looks once a day and sends one email if you have something to know.
- Pick Weekly → same idea, once a week.
- Pick Never → FutureFeed won't send that type of summary.
The only task email that arrives right away is when someone reassigns a task directly to you.
