Using Expected Documents in FutureFeed
Matching Your Internal Documentation to What Auditors Commonly Expect
When preparing for compliance assessments, auditors generally expect to review a set of core documents that demonstrate your organization’s policies, procedures, and controls. The exact list is not universal. It varies by framework, by auditor, and sometimes by interpretation. It is inherently subjective.
To help eliminate guesswork, expected document categories in FutureFeed are created by FutureFeed’s Compliance and Education Department. If you work with a service provider, they may also define or supplement categories based on their experience and methodology. These expectations are not mandatory, but they reflect what auditors commonly ask for and help you confirm that your foundational documentation is in place.
Expected document categories also improve cross-referencing between documents, making it easier to maintain consistency and clarity throughout your compliance documentation.
FINDING EXPECTED DOCUMENTS
Expected Documents appear on the Documents page. They represent the documents commonly expected for your selected framework and, when applicable, additional expectations defined by your service provider.
To open the expected documents panel:
• Navigate to Documents
• Select the button that opens the Expected Document panel
• Review the categories listed on the left side
Each category shows whether it has been fulfilled and which document fulfills it.
You can also access the same information from the Start Menu → Scope → Expected Documents.

FULFILLING AN EXPECTED DOCUMENT FROM PANEL
You can fulfill a category directly from the panel.
To fulfill a category:
• Select the category
• Choose an existing document
• Confirm the assignment
The category changes to fulfilled immediately.
FULFILLING AN EXPECTED DOCUMENT FROM WITHIN A DOCUMENT
You may also assign a document to fulfill a category while viewing the document itself.
To assign fulfillment from a document:
• Open the document
• Select the option to assign it to an expected document category
• Choose any unfulfilled category
The expected document panel updates immediately.
AUTOMATIC FULFILLMENT WHEN CREATING A DOCUMENT FROM A TEMPLATE
If you create a document using a template associated with a specific expected document category, the system fulfills that category automatically.
• Fulfillment occurs immediately when the document is created
• Only one document may fulfill a category at a time
• Creating another assigned-template document replaces the previous one
Automatic fulfillment reduces manual effort and ensures your evidence stays aligned with expected auditor requests.

VIEWING THE EXPECTED DOCUMENTS REPORT
The expected documents report summarizes which categories have been fulfilled and which remain outstanding.
To access the report:
• Navigate to Deliverables
• Select Compliance Reports
• Open Expected Documents Listing
The report appears immediately and offers a PDF download option.

SYSTEM BEHAVIOR DETAILS FOR END USERS
• Each expected document category may be fulfilled by one document
